Peter May

A Strong Voice for Swansea West

Visit to EYST

6.09.00pm BST (GMT +0100) Mon 24th May 2010

Peter visited the Ethnic Youth Support Team (EYST) at their drop in centre today. The project provides a useful resource and famously scooped £49700 in the Big Lottery People's millions TV vote in 2007. On the visit Peter has forged a good relationship to help in future projects with the emphasis will be on community engagement.

Peter found the drop in centre provides a good support service, such as mentoring and teaching as well as being a great place to chill out. The centre is thoughtfully 'zoned' with a learning zone and faith zone amongst the highlights.

During the visit Peter was shown a video highlighting the growth of EYST. Peter also played table tennis and pool (badly) and also utilised the punch bag!
