Visit To The Holy Cross3.28.00pm BST (GMT +0100) Tue 25th May 2010
Peter visited the Holy Cross charity shop in Gendros today. He was accompanied by Cockett ward Liberal Democrat Councillor Jim Kelleher. The shop, has been set up to fund raise for the new church building. The charity shop is actually in the old church which is adjacent to the new one. Peter found that the shop has a wide range of goods and is one Swansea's unearthed treasures. Clothing, quality china, children's, childrens toys are only some of the items on offer. To make the outing even more enjoyable, there is a very reasonably priced cafe serving tea, coffee and toasted sandwiches. The whole operation is run by volunteers and is based in Upper Kings Head Road. Naturally, the volunteers are always welcoming donations to sell in the shop. The shop itself is open from 10 a.m. - 3.p.m. every Tuesday and Wednesday.
